Welcome Message
ВAs President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, I see firsthand how rapidly interest in chess is growing, how the infrastructure is developing, and how a modern chess ecosystem is taking shape in our country. Every day, we witness new achievements that deserve attention and recognition not only within the chess community, but far beyond it.
Yet, sometimes it feels that the scale of the work we have done and the effort that has gone into it remain unnoticed by the wider public. Yes, chess is becoming more visible in the media, and the names of Kazakhstan’s chess players are increasingly well known. But if we want these achievements to be more than isolated successes, it is important to highlight the systemic changes taking place across the industry. Perhaps I, too, need to do a better job of seeing and communicating them.
That is why I decided to write about our work myself on the KazChess website. In this column, I will share the key events and developments shaping the chess life of our country.
